What is Coaching?

Coaching is different than Counseling as it focuses more on the future rather than the past. In coaching we discuss what you have learned from the past, how life is working for you in the present, and what you envision for the future so you can gain a new perspective and move forward. We then plan action steps for you to achieve your goals and create the life that was meant for you!

Coaching vs Therapy

Coaching is geared towards helping people get out of, or move on from their current situation, and into a better, more meaningful one. It includes educational tools, goal setting, and a plan to move forward. It also doesn't have to go through insurance, which is a plus since insurance regulations can sometimes be constraining when looking for possible solutions. Also, because therapy does go through insurance, there has to be a diagnosis, which is sometimes not needed to help a client work through a problem and find a solution.

  Therapy is a better fit for those struggling with addictions, severe mental health issues, and trauma, and some may be in need of a diagnosis, however, if you feel stuck and are looking for insight, or a new perspective in how to move on from your current situation, coaching may be the right choice for you!

While going through my MA program I had a choice to either become a licensed therapist, or a life coach. I chose coaching because I love to watch as people take control of their lives and achieve their dreams. I get excited to see the future through your eyes and then help you make choices and take action steps to make your dreams come true. 

I also understand that going through insurance is usually cheaper than what most coaches cost, so I put together my pricing list with that in mind and made it comparable to most copays, and if your copay is lower than the price per session, you'll pay your copay price instead!
